Baking with Dorie: Sweet, Salty & Simple

It’s always exciting for bakers when Dorie Greenspan comes out with a new book. Her simple yet elegant approach to sweets is on full display in her newest release Baking with Dorie: Sweet, Salty & Simple (Mariner Books, 2021). And this time, we get dinner and dessert with a chapter fully dedicated to the savory side, hence the “salty” in the title. Think tomato tart, asparagus-lemon quiche, a quick cornbread. The majority of the of the book (a delectable 150 recipes and 400 pages!) are her bread-and-butter sweet recipes, or should we say cakes-and-cookies-and-pies-and-butter recipes. There are chapters dedicated to all three, as well as one just for meringues and cream puffs. You won’t want to put it down as you decide what to make first. Us? We’re going for the Lisbon Chocolate Cake on the cover. Yum!
