Baking for the Holidays

Right on the heels of her successful book 100 Cookies, author and blogger Sarah Kieffer’s new book Baking for the Holidays (Chronicle Books; September, 2021) is jam packed with ideas regardless of what/how you celebrate the latter half of the year. There are over 50 recipes which range from traditional Cut-Out Cookies to fun twists on classics like Coffee-Cardamom Monkey Bread and Apple, Caramel, and Hard Cider Pie. The recipes are easy to follow, have beautiful process shots when required and offer fun flavor variations. The book takes the guesswork out of conversion, too, with measurements by volume and weight and temperatures in Fahrenheit and Celsius. Kieffer gives props to those who inspired some of her recipes, like the great Rose Levy Berenbaum and Dominique Ansel, and even has a suggested holiday play list to blast while you bake. It will surely keep us in the kitchen all season long.
